In a surprising report on Wednesday, Sport revealed a significant development regarding the future of Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the current season and no real progress made in renewal talks, the Polish striker has now started listening to offers from outside the club and preparing alternative scenarios should Barcelona decide not to extend his stay.

Both Barcelona and Lewandowski had maintained from the start that the final decision would depend on the player’s performance throughout the season. However, the club’s silence in recent months has increased the sense of uncertainty. Under the current circumstances, Lewandowski’s continuity at the club appears far from guaranteed.

Seeking long-term clarity over his future, Lewandowski and his camp have begun opening communication channels with other clubs to ensure they have concrete options should Barcelona choose not to retain him.

According to Sport, Lewandowski has already received attractive offers from Saudi Arabia, Major League Soccer, and—most notably—AC Milan.

Representatives of the Italian club recently met with the striker’s agents to present their sporting project and explain how Lewandowski would fit into their long-term plans.

Milan’s proposal is said to appeal to Lewandowski on both a professional and personal level, although he remains firm that no final decision will be made until Barcelona officially closes the door on renewing his contract.

As January approaches, transfer-window speculation begins to intensify—and as one of Europe’s biggest clubs, FC Barcelona naturally draws major media attention.
