Hours Before Atlético Madrid Clash.. Barcelona Informs Player of Decision to Part Ways

Barcelona are set for a decisive showdown against Atlético Madrid in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals at Camp Nou on Wednesday, with Hansi Flick’s side determined to gain a significant advantage ahead of the return leg.
The Catalan club head into the tie in strong domestic form, holding a seven-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of La Liga. As a result, focus has increasingly shifted towards their European ambitions, with the Champions League now a primary objective.
However, activity behind the scenes suggests that planning for next season is already well underway. According to Sport, several players are expected to depart this summer, including Ferran Torres and Marc Casadó. The report states that both players are unlikely to remain at the club, with proceeds from potential sales earmarked to support incoming transfers.
In a separate report, El Nacional claims that Ferran Torres—whose current contract runs until June 2027—had been anticipating talks over a renewal with Barcelona’s sporting department. Instead, the forward reportedly received unexpected news regarding his future.
According to the same source, Barcelona sporting director Deco has informed Torres that the club intends to place him on the transfer market this summer, with any formal offers expected to be reviewed after the 2026 World Cup.
