Barcelona Restrains Lamine Yamal with a Strict Decision After El Clásico

Following the controversy sparked by Lamine Yamal’s comments about Real Madrid during the “Kings League” last Thursday—and Barcelona’s subsequent defeat in El Clásico—the Catalan club has decided to monitor its young star’s activities closely to prevent similar incidents in the future.
At a difficult moment for the Spanish international, who finds himself under intense public scrutiny, Yamal was scheduled to attend a promotional event on Tuesday for OPPO, the smartphone brand he represents as an ambassador. The event was meant to unveil the company’s new model, the Find X9.
In light of his recent remarks—which generated significant controversy and placed him under heavy pressure—many voices within the football world have stressed that a player of his age and profile should not be exposed to such situations. It appears that lesson has now been learned.
While influencers such as Iris Mikel, David Suárez, and Alex Ortega appeared in OPPO’s Instagram Stories to promote the launch of the new OPPO Find X9, the club decided at the last moment that it would be best for Yamal not to appear in another public event.
Barcelona requested that the young player skip the launch, and he agreed, understanding that his previous comments—though perhaps blown out of proportion—had created unnecessary controversy ahead of the Santiago Bernabéu clash.
On another note, it seems the club was unable to prevent the release of Yamal’s interview with French streamer AmineMaTue, which was recorded last week and is reportedly set to be published later this evening, despite the club’s preference to delay or avoid it.
