Barcelona confirm injuries to two key players just before the new season kicks off

Bad news on the eve of the Joan Gamper Trophy, on Sunday at 9 p.m., when Barcelona face Como at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.
The club released a medical statement on Friday after the morning training session, announcing that Robert Lewandowski will miss the match due to a muscle injury.
At the moment, his participation in the first round of the Spanish League in Mallorca (Saturday, August 16, 7:30 PM) remains unknown.
The 36-year-old Polish striker is suffering from a muscle problem in his left hamstring, and the club announced his absence from the Joan Gamper match, adding that “the speed of his recovery will determine his availability.”
Meanwhile, Barcelona also reported that Dani Olmo did not train with the rest of the squad on Friday due to increased workload. The Blaugrana midfielder trained on the sidelines and is currently expected to be fit for the Como match.
Caution is required, as this is the same area where he suffered a muscle injury at the end of last season. Then, on April 19, during the Barcelona-Celta match, he suffered an injury to the semitendinosus muscle in his left thigh.
He missed the Champions League semi-final against Inter, despite making a symbolic, and perhaps premature, return in the final minutes of the second leg (May 6), and did not participate in the subsequent Barcelona-Real Madrid match, which was decisive in the Spanish League.
He did not start until the Espanyol-Barcelona match on May 15, the match in which Hansi Flick’s team was crowned La Liga champions.
In this preseason, like most theoretical starters, he played 50 percent of the minutes (135 of 270) against Vissel Kobe, Seoul FC, and Daegu, scoring two goals.
