Manchester United enter €100 million transfer battle to sign Barcelona player

With Barcelona yet to return to the 1:1 Financial Fair Play rule, there are still concerns about their ability to register new signings.
There have been suggestions that the Spanish champions will need to make at least one major sale this summer, in order to generate revenue as well as free up salary space.
In recent days, Marc Casado’s name has emerged as a potential sale candidate, as the La Masia graduate may not have a prominent role in the squad once Marc Bernal returns from injury.
According to Caught Offside, via Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United has now joined the list of Premier League clubs targeting Marc Casado this summer.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea have previously expressed interest in signing the La Masia talent, with the Red Devils now also joining the fray.
For their part, Arsenal have moved to sign Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard, but Chelsea remain keen amid concerns over Romeo Lavia’s lack of impact since his arrival.
Now Manchester United have also expressed interest in Casado as they see the young Barcelona player as a better option for their team than Manuel Ugarte, who was signed last summer from Paris Saint-Germain.
Casado has a €100 million release clause and a contract that runs until 2028. The midfielder’s intentions remain clear – he wants to stay at Barcelona.
Although the Catalan club is under financial pressure and may need to make a major sale to ease its financial burden, it has ruled out selling Casado at this time.
It will be interesting to see if this situation changes if a lucrative offer is received from any of the Premier League clubs.
